The Essay

As a form of literature The Essay includes composition of a very varied character.
But for examination purposes the term "Essay" has a definite signification.
It is applied to a composition in which the writer states his knowledge and gives his opinions about
a certain topic.
The Essay, as thus understood, may contain narrative or descriptive elements, but will also include
comments and criticisms representing the writer's own point of view.
